31st July 2012

The first day of our mini-break to London for the Olympics saw us drive up to our hotel at Bracknell. We arrived around 3pm and after checking in were soon back in the car and driving to Richmond Station for our evening at the National Theatre.
We usually park at Richmond and then get the tube to Westminster as its wheelchair friendly at both ends. We arrived at the theatre just after 6pm to meet our daughter Lydia and her partner Tom for a meal in one of the restaurants. Lydia has been working in the costume department for the past year so it was nice for us to meet up as we don't see enough of her in Somerset.
The play we had booked tickets for was 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time', which TimeOut says will be a 'hot ticket' to see. Its an adaptation of Mark Haddon's very successful novel about an 15 year old autistic boy called Christopher who sets out to find who killed his neighbours dog.
There were a few well known actors such as Una Stubbs and Niamh Cusack but the outstanding star of the play was Luke Treadaway as Christopher who gave a such a fantastic performance you'd have thought he really was autistic.
If you get the chance to see this I would recommend that you go !
